Harrisonburg Boards, Commissions, and Opportunities
Harrisonburg Citizen Academy
The Harrisonburg Citizen Academy is a 13-week program comprised of one 2-hour session per week designed to teach residents about the City and the services it provides. Participants will hear from different departments on their daily operations in a hands-on learning environment.
This is the ultimate way to learn about how your city operates. Dany participated in the inaugural Citizen Academy in 2007.
Harrisonburg Boards and Commissions
There are over 40 City Boards and Commissions that depend on citizen participation and leadership. The criteria for most is a desire and commitment to serve and then filling out the online application for City Council consideration.
